National Album Day will return for its fourth edition on Saturday, 16th October and this year will take as its theme Celebrating Women in Music, shining a light on the huge contribution made by women and female-identifying artists to our music and culture through the art form of the album.
To coincide with the announcement, National Album Day today also reveals the Top Ten women album artists since the start of 2000 according to Official Charts Company data, with Adele named the best-selling women album artist of the century. The list also features such icons as Amy Winehouse, Kylie, Madonna and Britney Spears.

The ‘Cardigan’ hitmaker, the 27-year-old singer, and the K-Pop megastars will all take to the virtual stage at the annual music awards ceremony, which is set to take place next week on March 14.
The full list of performers for this year’s ceremony – which will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles but will not feature any in-person attendance due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic – was announced by the Recording Academy on Sunday (07.03.21), and also includes the likes of Billie Eilish, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion.
Other stars set to perform their biggest hits from the past year are Bad Bunny, Black Pumas, Brandi Carlile, DaBaby, Doja Cat, Mickey Guyton, Haim, Brittany Howard, Miranda Lambert, Lil Baby, Dua Lipa, Chris Martin, John Mayer, Maren Morris, Post Malone, and Roddy Ricch.

The 31-year-old DJ and music producer admits the comedy characters from Kevin & Perry Go Large inspired him to get a set of DJ decks and pursue his love for music.
He said: I got a pair of decks for Christmas when I was a kid because I watched Kevin & Perry. I was buzzing. That’s how I wanted to be a DJ. My dad gave me some turntables. He was a DJ too, in the Nineties. He used to play all over. He used to take me to parties with him when I was a kid. I used to watch him set up and listen to him play Nineties house music.

Ranitha Gnanarajah, a Sri Lankan lawyer and civil activist, has been included in this year s list of 14 International Courageous Women award presented annually by the US State Department.

Blinken will host the annual International Women of Courage (IWOC) Awards virtual ceremony to honor a group of extraordinary women from around the world, including an honorary award for seven women leaders and activists from Afghanistan who were assassinated for their dedication to improving the lives of Afghans.
The First Lady of the United States, Dr. Jill Biden will deliver remarks to recognize the courageous accomplishments of these women.
